Everything Begins with Prayer
"...Pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with." James 5:16
How do I know God will answer my prayers when I ask Him to help my friends and family draw closer to Him? All throughout the Bible God answered the heartfelt requests of ordinary people just like you and me. He promises to answer you and show you great and mighty things when you call Him.
“Call to me and I’ll answer you, I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about.” Jeremiah 33:3 GNT
Your prayers are one of the most powerful ways to influence your friends and loved ones. James 5:16 explains how your fervent prayers are effective and produce wonderful results. James also describes how your faith-filled prayers can save the sick and bring healing to them.
When Jesus prayed for hurting people they were miraculously healed, saved, and delivered. When you partner with the Holy Spirit, God honors your faith and miracles can happen, too.
I can tell you firsthand that prayers mixed with faith work. Almost 50 years ago, my sister prayed that my spiritual eyes would be opened and I would invite God’s love into my heart. I was a confused teenager headed in the wrong direction, desperately needing the love of God to make a change in my life. Soon after she made that request, I asked Jesus to give me a new life and help me live with meaning and purpose. Her prayers are still working and continue to transform me in amazing ways until today.
Remember this:
When you fervently pray for someone to be healed, set free, or have an encounter with God, ask Him for the gift of faith through the Holy Spirit and you will see miracles happen in your loved ones’ lives, too.
“I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” Mark 11:24 NLT
