Jesus My Confidant

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:” - Hebrews 10:35-36

Have you ever had a best friend? Someone with whom you talked with and opened your heart and shared personal things? You began sharing activities, coffee and meals and started a friendship. Most likely you have developed a trust with them especially if the things you shared were meant to stay between the two of you.

What you have established in that kind of relationship is trust.

The word confidence comes from the word confide. Confide means to trust, to impart secrets trustfully.

As I was thinking on the scripture passage and the word confidence  I felt impressed of the Lord to share about being his friend.  My  thoughts went to how I  confide and sit and talk with the Lord. I’m sharing with him what is on my heart.  He has become my confidant. My very very best friend.

“I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate and cherished friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father.” John 15:15 TPT

I began to see that we are building something together. As I called upon him he answered. It built my confidence and trust as He has answered my secret heartfelt desires. Remember his word says my sheep hear my voice. The answer may not have even come how I thought it would but he still came to my rescue.

God is writing a story of our lives. He is filling in the chapters, paragraphs and all the spaces in between as we walk this road with him. Each storyline has a beginning and an ending. The spaces in between are the poetry that describes how I got over to the other side, the side where I learned endurance and perseverance to obtain the promise.

You have a confidant. One you can confide in. His name is Jesus. He is trustworthy and is available to help build your confidence in Him. What’s on your heart today? He’s waiting to hear from you.
